Gruppo Refrattivo Italiano

Gruppo Refrattivo Italiano is the reference point for refractive surgery used to treat and cure eye conditions and to correct visual defects (e.g. presbyopia, cataracts, etc.) through safe and effective laser surgery.

Every year, thousands of patients rely on the Group's qualified staff, who guide each patient along a specific pathway depending on the type of condition or defect to be treated, with a very high treatment/correction rate. Gruppo Refrattivo Italiano is a Zeiss partner and also contributes to advances in refractive surgery through research and development.

The objectives of the project developed for Gruppo Refrattivo Italiano were:

• Collect the data provided by diagnostic examinations performed by different types of machines into a single centralised system
• Have a single shared platform to manage multiple sites, constantly monitored and updated
• Integrate a machine learning system to analyse the collected data and obtain, with maximum precision, an indication of which type of procedure is required for each case
• Analyse the data collected during follow-up along the patient pathway
• Classify patient data and enable the generation of real-time statistics

• Streamlining of the data collection system into a single centralised solution for all the instruments used
• Reduced response times even with a modest volume of data, including historical data
• Unification into a single platform for data access from different geographical sites
• Real-time data availability
• Calculation of the indices used to immediately identify which type of procedure to perform
• Reduced errors during data acquisition

Cocce adapted to the technologies already used by Gruppo Refrattivo Italiano, proposing solutions able to integrate with the existing information system.

Cocce developed new software for data acquisition from the various instruments, a system for managing, centralising and analysing the collected data, and a web platform for consulting it.
